About the Role:

The National Technical Service Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end service process of Nipro Medical Corporation’s Dialysis equipment in US. This includes installation, service, repair, and field support on dialysis equipment. Responsible to ensure all customer needs are met in timely fashion and responded to emergencies as quickly and efficiently as possible. This position encompasses technical support, system testing, and product development projects.

Essential Functions:

Manage calls from service center and follow up on each job from scheduling to completion.

• Provide technical assistance to maximize dialysis equipment systems benefits to customer

• Develop and implement operational procedures and guidelines to ensure that customer repair orders, installation or technical visits are done in a professional and timely manner.

• Continue professional development through additional training, as well as maintaining a strong safety-orientated culture within the business.

• Follow allowed budget and ensure business sensitivity to expenses and spending.

• Ensure proper execution of Nipro procedures and policies by helping to exceed company sales, service and operations goals.

• Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.

• Work effectively in a team environment to monitor, log, resolve, and escalate issues with installations and service of the equipment.

• Utilize creative thinking, problem-solving skills and an understanding of electrical equipment and electronic controlled equipment to continually improve the operational process.

• Utilize leadership and motivational skills to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups.

• Follow and develop operations procedures to ensure timely resolution of escalation of issues.

• Act as liaison for internal and external communications directly with departments as required.

• Provide regular status reports and gather requirements from departments and provide input into the infrastructure products that are bought or serviced.

• Designs, develops, and provides safety testing, along with repair and maintenance of hemodialysis devices.

• Ensures biomedical devices follow applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards.

• Maintains and ensures accuracy of records of equipment repair, maintenance, and inspections to ensure the availability of appropriate safety and operational documentation.

• Responsible and accountable for supporting the values of outstanding customer service.

• Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.

• Initiates action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.

• Assembles and disassembles equipment to conduct repairs, perform calibrations, and replace malfunction components.

• Conducts inventory inspections and requests replacement parts, supplies, instruments.

• Develops training materials and provides training for biomed technicians.

Travel Required:

Up to 80% travel but may require additional travel.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Technical Courses, Associate or Bachelors in Applied Science/Engineering or relevant experience is required.

 

Experience & Required Skills:

Must have minimum six years of experience in the repair and maintenance of dialysis equipment.

• Preferably with certification from the manufacturers of dialysis equipment, water treatment system and basic electronics knowledge and skilled of using multi-meter, leakage tester, and other related electrical equipment.

• Minimum 6 years of experience with dialysis requirements such as Association for the advancement of medical instrumentation in hemodialysis systems (ANSI/AAMI) is required.

• Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting; experienced in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Power Point a must; able to read electronic schematics and CAD drawings.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Must be a self-starter who can work independently yet function in a highly collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to work well independently with little supervision and effectively prioritize workload.

• Excellent troubleshooting and organization skills.

• Must be knowledgeable of the water treatment systems and dialysis equipment.

• Performs other job-related activities as requested.

• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are a must.

• Ability to think proactively and offer scalable recommendations.

• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.

• High integrity, team player with customer service focus and flexibility.
